Corporate Strength | Providing wellness programs for corporations large and small

Testimonials

So when I was hired I had to go through a physical. During that physical they drew blood and among other things they checked my cholesterol level. It was at 240 which is high, ok is between 125 and 200. The results showed my bad cholesterol was also high due to the fact that my triglycerides were high. After receiving these results I was a bit shocked, I always considered myself to be healthy. So I visited with Jess and she asked questions about my lifestyle, eating habits, and exercise. She then gave me some guidance on nutrition and resources to help me tailor the program to meet my needs. So I took her advice and made a few small changes in my eating habits. A lot of the information I found was overwhelming and Jess helped to break it down so that I could understand what it meant and how it related to my situation. I also started to exercise regularly including participating in our on-site Circuit Training and Trio classes. I also weight train and cardio train during the week. My first test was taken on Oct. 10. I donated blood this last week on May 13th and learned that my cholesterol is now down to 172. So in 7 months with some minor changes to my diet and exercise I dropped my cholesterol 68 points. Other benefits have been losing 2 inches around my waist and an increase in muscle mass. I also have more energy and feel better about myself. Thanks to Jess, the Wellness Program is a big hit in my life. And just because I have reached where I want to be with my cholesterol doesn't mean I'm going to stop. I now have new wellness goals and am working toward them.

I can get very emotional in relaying my gratitude to Jess and everyone that attended the Tobacco Cessation Support Group. I have been smoke free for over 30 days now, something that I never thought would fly by so quickly or that I would accomplish without much distress. Truly it was because of the support of the group, the strong encouragement, and continued inspiration. Thank you very much for the training that was provided that helped me to quit smoking.

I attribute much of BP's Wellness Program success to its comprehensive nature, but the key to our program is our on-site Wellness Director. I anticipate our Wellness Program to not only have positive impacts for weeks and months, but for years to come. We are shifting from a reactive to a proactive process, and in doing so, generating lifestyle changes.
-Bill Burgess, Business Services Manager

I have been active in our wellness group for about a year now and I cannot say enough good things. With everyone's support I have been smoke free for over a year. I am challenged to get fit everyday by talking to people about healthy eating and living. It is a big help to have someone make you accountable for your health, and the information given to me by Jess and the lunch and learns has been very beneficial. I had never thought about health as much as I have since I have joined the wellness group. My overall health has improved and I just love the classes and the competitions that make it fun. It is wonderful to have someone on site to talk with about anything. I love it and will continue to be involved as long as they will let me. My thoughts have changed around my health and what it means.

Our Wellness Director is an inspirational and motivational resource. I greatly benefit from her direction, the Trio class (my flexibility and strength have improved and continue to improve), and my individual consultations. I am currently attending a gym for more strengthening (and, yes, as you said, scheduling the time is key). The Health Fair is such a benefit: It is very well organized. The annual blood tests with follow-up explanations of the results help me understand my overall health and give me a basis for consulting with my physician. A broad scope of information is provided and appreciated.”

As an engineer I have very little time to exercise during my work day. I sat down with Corpstrength's wellness director for our operations center, and we came up with a convenient plan. In 6 months I lost more than 40 pounds, had to give away 2 different sets of clothing, and my energy levels went way up! These guys are great!
-Mike F., engineer, Durango

Not only did our wellness coordinator design an effective fitness and nutrition program for me (that I am sticking to by the way!), but he has changed the overall atmosphere of the office into something enjoyable. I regularly attend the on-site yoga classes and "Wellness Lunch and Learns" and am a healthier and happier person because of them.
-Debbie T., accountant, El Paso

The average work week for our employees can be downright hectic; most of our folks work 60 or more hours at the office and then go home to their kids and spouses. These two responsibilities leave very little room for health risk evaluation and prevention. Cholesterol screenings, blood pressure analysis, and body composition tests are virtual necessities these days, and a real pain for most people to schedule on their own. What Corpstrength has done is bring these services to the workplace in a convenient, un-intrusive and cost-effective manner! Now, instead of worrying about the unknown, our people can take the necessary steps to improve their health

I can't say enough about the hard work, empathy, flexibility, and creativity that Corpstrength has brought to our facility in the form of a wellness program! Their directors and owners completely understand my needs and those of my co-workers, and address each one with competence and care.
